ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the paintings. I don't know why, but they somehow 'speak' to me. Maybe I lived some other life back then? Or maybe it's simply because I love to read romantic novels of that time period. That's probably more likely. :)
DeleteI enjoyed this very fine medley. But as elegant as those ladies look, I can't help thinking about what a chore it was to clean those long dresses, especially after walking a dog on a street in Paris. And taking a stroll in the snow? Not unless they're wearing goulashes!
ReplyDeleteCleaning of the garments ladies wore back then would certainly be a bit of a chore. My thoughts on the matter center more on what a chore it would have been to get dressed in that clothing not to mention how hot one would be walking about in all that clothing on a warm day!
