INDOORS & CAUGHT ON CAMERA

  Grampa reading to a granddaughter.   My husband and one of our three beautiful granddaughters in 2003. I caught my youngest sister playing the piano down in the laundry room in 1959 – a terrible place for a piano but it was the only place we had for it.  It was old and painted mustard yellow.  I think I’ve mentioned before my Mom wanted to paint it pink with daisy decals in the indentations to match her laundry colors, but it never got done. Too bad. It would’ve been cute. I caught the same sis a few years later in 1966 sewing on my machine. Dad caught me reading the evening paper - The Oakland Tribune -  in 1963 . I caught him unawares in 1967! I also caught him napping later the same year. And making sandwiches in 1968. In 1961 Mom caught him nibbling on the Christmas turkey carcass. But Mom also got caught earlier that same day preparing that same turkey for roasting.  You can just see the end of it sitting on the table behind her.  Looks like she's cutting up celery for the s

GENTLEMEN & LADIES WALKING ABOUT

  Yet another chance for me to share some of my favorites. J Couple with a Bustle – artist unk. Are they headed for church or Fifth Avenue in New York?  Perhaps both.  St. Patrick’s Cathedral is on 5 th Avenue and they decorate beautifully for Easter with hundreds of lilies – at least they did when I was there in 1992. - Not sure about the artist’s signature? Bliss State Park’s Lighthouse Trail along Lake Tahoe’s west shore.  L-R: my brother, Mom, younger sis, Grandma Louise, middle sis, & me. Part of the Lighthouse Trail which offers beautiful views of the lake. There are also interesting rock formations along the trail . . . . . . as well as the old wooden lighthouse that once upon a time warned boats & ships of the rocky dangers near the shore at night. 1958, listening to a Bliss park ranger tell us what we were going to see on a nature walk.  That’s m
