BOYS IN UNIFORM FROM SLACKS TO SHORTS TO KILTS & BACK AGAIN
This photo is from last
week’s post of girls in uniform crossing their legs, but I couldn’t resist the
close match with this week’s prompt picture of boys in uniform with their legs
crossed. Looking at the two pictures, I’m
not sure why it seems significant, but the boys are crossing their legs right
to left, and the girls, left to right which is the exact opposite of how they
button their shirts and blouses.
Another photo of uniformed
boys crossing legs. In this pose they
remind me of falling bowling pins.
No legs crossed here.
Legs going every which way!
These are obviously
uniforms for dress-up occasions. I can’t
imagine wearing them for every day - running around on the playground trying to
play in them.
Fancy the straw hats. In roaming the internet for photos I saw
quite a few uniform-suited fellows wearing them.
Ah, more crossed
legs. But I picked this photo because of
the interesting trim on their lapels.
Now we turn to family in
uniform. My husband’s Grandfather, Harry
Brasier – center of seated row – in an early classroom photo.

A group of boys supposed
to be dressed in a ‘uniform’ of dark colors for the photo. There’s always one, of course, who doesn’t
follow the ‘rules’. I remember my son as
a freshman in his high school band dressed in the band’s uniform to march in a
parade. Band members were told to wear
black shoes. He wore white. The band director handed him a can of black
spray paint and told him to fix the problem!
Hard lesson, but he never forgot to follow the band director’s directions again! Meanwhile, my husband’s older
brother is in the photo here, top row, middle – just to the right of the
hanging lantern.
Mothers stand behind their
Boy Scout sons in uniform for a ceremony of some sort. My husband and his mother are second in from
the left.
From Boy Scout to father
of the groom in the swish of time. My
husband 2nd in from the right; our son, to his right. Groom and groomsmen in matching tuxes.
Oh you just reminded me, I have some state champion photos to share too. Will probably not get it up by Saturday. I got the same feeling about everyone crossing their legs in one direction, is there any rhyme or reason to it?
