WHAT'S UP WITH THESE CARS?
My Grandma Louise is
sitting on the running board of her car waiting to throw a snowball at someone!
A bride is about to be
driven to her wedding in the family car.
The groom is helping the
bride into his car which will take them off on their honeymoon.
A few weeks later that
same car is slipping the bride & groom’s new boat into the Klamath River
for an afternoon of fishing.
A new family car carts a
Christmas tree home for the holidays.
Another new car is packed
to the gills with camping equipment and daughters squeeze in for the ride home
after two weeks in the mountains.
Yet another new car AND a
new boat!  Hello!  Are we gonna have fun or what?!! J
Sometime later Mom takes
the new car through the drive-through tree in the Tuolumne Grove of Big Trees
in Yosemite National Park.
Seeing as how the 1990 A-Rock forest fire
thankfully skirted this area, Dad helps load unneeded fire fighting equipment
into his Forest Service truck in Yosemite’s Merced Grove of Big Trees.
Unfortunately Dad’s own
truck has suffered a boo-boo (unseen on the other side) and is being towed off to the repair shop.
Meanwhile, our son’s truck
is going nowhere for a while.  But yes,
he did get it running again. J
Eldest daughter and a
friend wave goodbye to the family Mother’s Day celebrants in Yosemite as she
prepares to drive home in her Honda Accord.
Youngest daughter pops up
out of the sunroof of her sister’s car to say “Hi”.
This car’s getting a good
wash down during a car wash to raise funds for our church’s high school youth
group.  Better do a good job, guys.  It’s the minister’s car!
Speaking of washing cars,
youngest daughter washes her new car.  It doesn't have a sunroof, but it's red!
And eldest daughter washes
her newer new car.
Eldest daughter and her
Dad stand by his truck which will soon be taking them to the airport where they
will meet the group they’ll soon be touring Italy with.
Wow, I know you had fun with picking out all these family car photos! I'm not sure which made me laugh more, the bride getting into the station wagon or the Karmann Ghia towing a boat. I love your granddaughter's photo the best because of her wonderful look of concentration. I saw the same face on my son when he first went on a big road trip.
ReplyDeleteThese were certainly fun photos, and lots of good memories of taking care of cars! Loved seeing a running board in the first...a term which has kind of lost meaning these days!
